Explosion-proof board is a fire-resistant and explosion-proof board made of reinforced fiber cement board as the base material and galvanized steel composite material on the surface. It belongs to industrial protective materials and is mainly used in explosion-hazardous areas in chemical, power, and pharmaceutical fields. It is suitable for explosion-proof partitions, ceilings, smoke exhaust ducts and steel structure protection systems . Its standard size is 1200×2400mm, and the thickness is usually 9.5mm. It adopts a sandwich composite structure. The surface galvanized steel plate has a hole design to enhance the bonding force, and the sandwich fiber cement board can withstand high temperature and high pressure. The product has core properties such as fire resistance (up to 4 hours), explosion resistance and impact resistance. It also has the functions of moisture resistance, lightweight and sound absorption. During construction, it is fixed by steel keel frame, and is installed by staggered laying and self-tapping screws, and is reinforced with rock wool filling to enhance structural stability. The product has passed multiple explosion resistance, combustion and impact tests and meets the Class A fire protection standard. It can be customized for explosion protection projects in dangerous goods warehouses, laboratories, traffic tunnels and other scenarios.

Explosion-proof Panel Construction Recommendations

 

1. Installation and Fixing of the Keel

(1) Repair any uneven areas on the ground, ceiling, and walls where the keel frame needs to be installed.

(2) Mark the positions of the top (ground) keel on the ground and ceiling according to the design (see Figure 1), and also mark the positions of doors, windows, sanitary equipment, pipes, and openings.

(3) Fix the top (ground) keel with nails or expansion bolts. The horizontal fixing spacing of the nails or expansion bolts should be ≤800mm, and the fixing point should be 100mm from the end of the wall (see Figure 2).

(4) Insert the vertical keel into the top (ground) keel and tighten it with blind rivets at 610mm intervals. The vertical keel is generally 5mm shorter than the net height of the partition wall. Note that the opening direction of the vertical keel should be consistent, and it should not be inverted vertically to ensure that the openings of the vertical keel are on the same horizontal plane.

(5) Use a plumb bob to check the verticality of the vertical keel.

(6) Install reinforcing keels at door and window frames, free ends of walls, wall joints, and on both sides of larger openings; this is a combination of vertical keels and top (ground) keels.

(7) Install horizontal bracing keels at a wall height of 2400mm (i.e., at the horizontal joint of the panels).

(8) Install other supporting objects at the location of suspended equipment to facilitate equipment fixation.

(9) Install concealed pipelines and sockets, and internal filling materials (as per design requirements, such as rock wool). If holes need to be made in the vertical keels, the hole diameter must not exceed 2/5 of the keel width.

(10)Conduct acceptance testing according to relevant building construction specifications, checking the dimensions and verticality of the keel frame, as well as its integrity and sturdiness. Explosion-proof panels can only be installed after the inspection is passed.
