A gypsum board production line is used to manufacture gypsum boards, also known as drywall or plasterboard. Several components make up the production line, which includes the raw material feeding system, calcination system, board forming system, drying system, cutting system, and stacking system.
First, gypsum rocks are dug up and then crushed into a specific size. After this, all the materials are fed into a mixing tank with water and additives such as starch and foam to make a homogeneous plaster slurry. Next, in the calcination system, the raw materials undergo heating in a temperature-controlled furnace or kiln until they turn into gypsum plaster. The temperature in this system varies from 150 to 170 degrees Celsius and is the most important step in the production of gypsum boards.
In the board forming system, the gypsum slurry is poured onto a continuous flat belt made of paper.The mixture is then spread evenly and covered with another paper sheet on top. Then, the uncut boards dry in the drying or weter system ,which is carried out with ventilators, heaters, and conveyer belts. The average drying time is around 20 to 40 minutes. In the cutting system, the boards are cut into the required sizes. Finally, in the stacking system, the boards are stacked and packed for dispatch.
Some modern production lines may have lamination and printing systems that can further enhance the product by printing designs on the board or laminating it with different materials such as vinyl or wood. Gypsum boards can be produced with different specifications according to customer needs. Main process
 

The basic material for producing such gypsum boards is mainly gypsum powder (calcined gypsum) that the content of CaSO4·1/2H2O is 75% above.

Calcined gypsum, water and various additives are automatically and separately metered and brought into the blending machine by a continuous auto-conveying system before well mixed into pulp and casted onto the gypsum board surface protecting paper which is continuously moving forward. During the progressing process, the pulp is gradually dispersed and well distributed under jarring before brought to the shaping station where the pulp is composed with the back paper of gypsum board and brought through the shaping machine after which the pulp is fully wrapped by an upper and a lower cardboard and pressed into well-regulated flat board which is continuously brought forward as per a stable and strictly controlled speed. After 5 minutes around, the calcined gypsum in the pulp is hydrated again and crystallized into tiny crystal of interpenetrative dihydrate gypsum with a high strength. And then, the wet gypsum board with a certain strength and regular shape is precisely cut into individual boards with set size by an auto-controlled cutting system. The individual boards are orderly arranged, turned over and brought into the dying machine in which the absorbed water in the board is evaporated away in a strict drying atmosphere (The crystal water in the gypsum crystal has no loss). After brought out from the drying machine, the boards are gradually cooled down in the further production process before the front sides of each two boards are folded after turned over again, and the two ends are cut into regularly sized and well-ordered appearance by an end saw. And then, the two ends of the board are packed by paper strips with fixed symbol, and finally the packed boards are sent to the automatic stacking machine and stacked into well-ordered finished products before put into storage.
