Part One: Core Performance Parameters – The Benchmark for Measuring Equipment Output
When evaluating equipment, you first need to focus on the following essential indicators that directly affect production capacity and efficiency:
-
Production Line Speed and Annual Design Capacity
This is the most intuitive parameter. Production line speed is usually expressed in meters per minute (m/min), which determines the length of gypsum board produced per unit of time. More importantly, annual design capacity-expressed in square meters (㎡) or tons-directly relates to your market supply capability and investment scale.
For example, a mid-range production line typically operates at 40–60 m/min, with an annual capacity of 10–20 million ㎡. You must choose a capacity that matches the size and growth expectations of your target market to avoid underinvestment or overcapacity. -

Product Specification Adaptability
The machinery should be able to make products that are inline with the current requirements of your target market. Note the following carefully:
-
Board Thickness Range:
The machines shall be able to serve full product range - from standard thicknesses (9.5mm, 12.7 mm) thick boards (15mm and higher) to thin boards (6mm). This governs the types of end-use applications you can cover (one example is partitions, ceilings and decorative moldings).Board Width and Length:
Check if the equipment can create widths which are quite popular in market (like 1200mm) and is able to cut different lengths for satisfying different building purposes.
Paper-Faced vs. Paperless:
Clearly define whether you plan to primarily produce traditional paper-faced gypsum board or the emerging paperless gypsum board (using fiberglass mat). The core equipment-especially the forming machine and facing material handling system-differs significantly between the two.
Unit Product Energy Consumption and Raw Material Consumption
This is a crucial factor in determining long-term operating costs. High-efficiency equipment should offer:
Low Electricity and Gas Consumption per Ton of Board:
This directly impacts your monthly energy expenses.
High Gypsum Conversion Rate and Low Scrap Rate:
This reflects high raw material utilization and a better yield. Well-optimized equipment can keep the scrap rate below 2%, directly improving your profit margins.

Part Two: Core Technology Highlights – The Foundation of Product Quality and Stability
Parameters are only the surface; behind them lies the technical essence that determines long-term equipment stability and product quality.
Precise Batching and Mixing System – The "Heart" of Gypsum Board Production
Precise Metering:
The key lies in accurately proportioning gypsum powder, water, foaming agent, and other additives. An automatic metering system equipped with high-precision sensors and PLC control ensures consistency in slurry density, setting time, and final product strength.
Efficient Mixing:
The mixer has to mix together quickly to a good homogeneity (normal order of duration, some tens of seconds) the raw materials in order for a very stable, highly fluent slurry made thereby being realized leading up on molding towards uniform spreading.
Stable and Efficient Molding and Solidification Technology
Uniform Molding:
The moulding station should align the upper and lower facing paper (or fiberglass mat) accurately with a certain tension, and at the same time evenly spread it by means of the gysum slurry. Even small variations may result in uneven thickness, edge defects and other quality problems.
Controlled Setting:
On the setting conveyor, the gypsum slurry completes its hydration reaction. By precisely controlling belt speed and length, sufficient and consistent time is ensured for initial setting, resulting in uniform crystal structure and stable strength.
Intelligent Drying Technology and Heat Recovery
The drying kiln is the largest energy consumer in the entire production line, and its technological sophistication directly determines operating costs.
Precise Zoned Temperature and Humidity Control:
Modern drying kilns use a multi-zone design that enables independent, precise control of temperature, humidity, and airflow in each zone based on the board's drying curve. This ensures the gypsum board is thoroughly and uniformly dried-avoiding "wet core" or overheating-while maximizing thermal efficiency.
Heat Recovery System:
Top-tier equipment integrates a high-efficiency heat exchanger to recover heat from exhaust gases and use it to preheat fresh air entering the drying kiln. This significantly reduces fuel consumption and is a key technology for achieving low-cost operation
