Gypsum Board PVC Film: Three Specs Buyers Ask About Before Ordering

Oct 10, 2026 Leave a message

A recent inquiry for gypsum board PVC film looked like most of them. Four lines: 0.07mm, 1220mm, a pattern code, and a monthly quantity. No mention of tolerance, no mention of formulation, no mention of where the boards were going.

That last part matters, because it decides two of the three things that will come up again before delivery.

First reply item: the actual thickness range.

The inquiry said 0.07mm. The quotation can say 0.07mm. What the production batch measures is a separate number, and it is the one that decides whether the film bonds cleanly on a line where roller temperature moves a few degrees.

In the ceiling board market, ±0.003mm is a common tolerance on nominal thickness. A supplier quoting below the usual price is often shipping on the lower side of that range, or wider. Either way, the number belongs in the reply, not in a follow-up email after the first batch runs.

Second reply item: which plasticizer system.

DOP is still the default in many quotes, and it works. It also migrates over time, which is why markets with RoHS or REACH requirements have moved toward DINP or ESO with calcium-zinc stabilizers. If the buyer does not say where the boards are going, the reply should ask. If the destination is known, the formulation route should be stated rather than left at "standard."

This is not a detail that shows up in a sample. A sample tells you how the film feels. It does not tell you how it holds up in a humid climate or under sustained commercial lighting.

Third reply item: the fire report, if the project needs one.

Corridors, kitchens, and most commercial interiors carry a fire rating requirement. Which standard applies depends on the market - GB 8624-2012 in China, EN 13501-1 in the EU, ASTM E84 in the US. Two things about the report itself are worth confirming early. Whether it was issued by a third party or self-declared, since a self-declared report is often not accepted at customs or final inspection. And whether the tested thickness and formulation match the order, because a report for 0.08mm does not cover a 0.06mm shipment.

None of these three are complicated. They are just easier to put in the first reply than to resolve after the order has been produced. Buyers who compare gypsum board PVC film suppliers across more than one cycle tend to notice which suppliers answer these without being asked twice.

Danae Build Tech runs gypsum board PVC film for 595×595mm and 600×600mm standard ceiling boards, with film widths mainly in the 1220–1230mm range. Buyers who want the full parameter list before sending an inquiry can find it here: Gypsum Board PVC Film.
