The installation of cement fiberboard mainly involves four steps: laying out lines, installing the keel, fixing the boards, and treating the joints. The key is to leave expansion joints and control the screw spacing.
How to install step by step:
Laying out lines and installing the keel: First, mark lines on the walls, floor, and ceiling according to the drawings. Fix the main keel with hangers, spaced approximately 1 meter apart, ensuring the keel is on the same horizontal plane.
Laying boards and screwing: The long side of the board should be perpendicular to the secondary keel. Fix from the center outwards, using self-tapping screws spaced 200-300mm apart.
Filling joints and finishing: Leave a 3-5mm gap between boards, fill it with elastic adhesive, and then paint or apply a decorative finish.
Key data to remember:
Nail hole location: Screws should be 10-15mm from the edge of the board, and the nail head should be recessed into the board surface by no more than 0.5mm to prevent rust and maintain aesthetics.
Leaving gaps: For large ceiling areas, leave an expansion joint every 10-15 meters to prevent cracking due to thermal expansion and contraction.
Cutting Precautions: Use an electric saw to cut thick plates; thin plates can be sliced. Wear a mask during operation to prevent dust inhalation.
Differences between different locations:
Exterior Wall Construction: The frame must be made of galvanized material. After installation, a waterproof paint treatment is required, and joints must be sealed to prevent leaks.

Interior Wall Partitions: If there are
pipes, install them first before sealing the panels. The joints of the side panels should be staggered from the keel.
Safety Preparations: Have electric drills and cutting machines readily available. Wear gloves and safety goggles. The base wall surface must be flat and clean.
The key to avoiding adhesive residue in joint filling with elastic adhesive is prevention and phased cleanup. Specific techniques are as follows:
I. Prevention: Reduce adhesive overflow at the source
Control adhesive amount: Use a caulking gun to apply adhesive at a uniform speed. The adhesive layer thickness should not exceed the width of the gap. For example, for a 2mm wide gap, the adhesive layer should be controlled within 1.5mm. You can test the adhesive on a corner first to observe the spread.
Apply masking tape: Before filling, apply masking tape to the edges of the board on both sides of the joint. After complete curing, peel off the masking tape to remove excess adhesive. This is suitable for decoration scenarios such as cement fiberboard.
Correct adhesive application method: For large gaps, use a dotting method instead of continuous application, allowing the adhesive to spread naturally and reducing excess adhesive overflow.
